Dragon Python Artwork

€130.00

This sculpture its inspired from the mythical creatures of Greek mythology dragon Python who lived next to a spring in Parnassus, until Apollo killed him with his arrows and built the Oracle of Delphi there. It was from this oracle that Cadmus took advice to choose a location to build the city he wanted. He was led to a spring where a dragon lived, which he killed and, following the order of the goddess Athena, he planted its teeth in the ground. These teeth gave birth to brave warriors. Those who survived helped him build Thebes. Some of these teeth were given by the goddess Athena to Jason, who also used them in his attempt to take the Golden Fleece of Cochlea from the dragon who was guarding it.
