This sculptural vase its inspired by Ides, also known as Dactyls, are mythical beings in Greek mythology, often described as mountain demons or dwarfs possessing magical properties and exceptional skills in metallurgy. Legend has it that they emerged from the earth at the moment the goddess Rhea, sometimes referred to as Rhea-Kibeli, was giving birth to Zeus. As she thrust her fingers into the earth, ten beings sprang forth: five women from her left hand and five men from her right. These beings were present to assist in Zeus's birth. The Dactyls are renowned for their magical abilities and their significant role in ancient Greek mythological tales.
